Footgear opened in March 2001 in a 50m2 shop in Access Park, Kenilworth, Cape Town. From these humble beginnings the business has grown steadily over the last few years. Today the first store has grown to 1150 sqm.
We currently have 53 stores (within Cape Town, Gauteng, North West, Mpumalanga, Limpopo & Eastern Cape) and we continue to grow at a rapid rate!

CARE OF SHOES
Caring for your new FOOTGEAR shoes:
You will get longer wear and more enjoyment from your shoes if you follow
a few basic care principles.
Shoes with leather uppers:
To dry shoes: apply the correct Meltonian shoe care product such as: Meltonian Clean and Shine, Meltonian Clean and Care Mousse, Meltonian Power Protector.
Shoes with fabric uppers:
Use Meltonian Sport Whitener and follow the instructions.
N.B. always remember that shoes should never be washed in a washing machine
or force dry cleaned with ammonia based detergents, or dried in an oven, a tumble dryer or a micro wave. Insert dry tissue paper or newspaper into damp shoes to absorb moisture.
FITTING A SHOE
Shoe Fitting Instructions:
Shoe sizes may vary from brand to brand, and often the style of the shoe can
also affect the fit. It is therefore important to try on both shoes before making
your final decision. Whilst all of our shoes carry a full manufacturers guarantee,
we cannot guarantee the fit. Our trained sales staff are on hand to advise you,
but the final decision on size is always yours.
When fitting shoes we recommend the following:
Wear the same thickness sock as the one you will use when wearing the shoe. For example a thin running sock for running shoes and a thick hiking sock for hiking shoes.
Lace up the shoe, stand evenly on both feet, and ensure that you have a thumb width of space between the end of your longest toe and the front of the shoe.
Remember always to fit your biggest foot (it is common for one foot to be slightly larger than the other).
Provided you have that thumb width of space at the front of the shoe, the shoe should mould to the shape of your foot.
You should always be able to move your toes freely in any shoes that you are planning to buy, shoes that pinch your toes will make you miserable, and lead to painful and more serious problems later.
If you have bought the shoes online, or have not had the time to fit them carefully in store, please try them on before you wear them, as exchanges and refunds are gladly done, providing the shoe is in its original condition, and original packaging.

The following are free services that Footgear offers you to make your Footgear experience a memorable one.
Full manufacturers guarantee:
All of our product carries a full manufacturers guarantee, which is subject to reasonable wear and tear for 6 months. So if your shoes have a structural failure during this period, please bring them in, and we will evaluate if they fall under the suppliers guarantee, and if so, if they should be replaced or repaired. We may retain the goods for inspection and final decision by the supplier.
Please note your shoes need to be cared for, and used for the purpose for which they were designed and intended. We carry a full range of shoe care products, to ensure that you get maximum wear and enjoyment from your shoes.
Please remember to bring the receipt as proof of purchase. Please note we cannot process any transactions, returns, refunds, or exchanges without the original till slip.
Exchanges and Refund
We will gladly, exchange or refund any shoe that is bought from us and returned in the original selling condition, in the original packaging with the original till slip, within 30 days of purchase.
So don’t stress about buying a pair as a gift for a friend or relative, because if they don’t fit or your friend or relative would prefer a different pair, we will gladly do an exchange or refund, and hey, we don’t charge handling fees.
We gladly accept lay buys, and believe we have the most customer friendly lay buy policy. A minimum 25% deposit is required, and our normal terms are 3 months to pay.
If however you cancel your lay buy, would like to change the shoe selected, or need extra terms to pay, we will gladly accommodate you, and we do not charge handling, cancellation fees or interest. All we ask is that you present us with the till slip, and let us know what extra period you require on your lay buy.
What’s more, if for some reason, the style of shoe you selected has been put on promotion, we will gladly reduce the price of your pair on lay buy, to the same as the stock on the floor.

We accept cash, debit cards and most credit cards as methods of payment. Unfortunately we do not accept cheques.
